STYLE | My First Tulle

Let me tell you a story about this skirt.

Now, about 3 months ago I came across this gorgeous burgundy floral tulle skirt from the main range at ASOS. You know when you see something and suddenly, nothing else around you matters? Well that was me with this skirt. Up until then, I had been searching for a ‘proper’ tutu/mesh/tulle midi for the longest time but to no avail. Upon looking at the price however, I decided to wait it out – even with my student discount, I thought it was still a bit too expensive. I waited.
I waited two months. One day, surprise! The skirt hit the sale, down from £65 to £39 but they no longer had my size. Can you imagine the BALLACHE? At this point, I couldn’t see me finding anything else similar or cheaper, so I decided to purchase the skirt anyway – the skirt is a size smaller than what I normally wear but screw it – I told myself that I would get this come hell or highwater.
In terms of the fit, I naturally assumed that the waist would be elastic, or of a jersey material but alas. This skirt has NO stretch whatsoever at the waist; luckily my waist is a tiny bit smaller so it just about sits comfortably without feeling too tight. I paired the skirt with an ASOS main range Bardot crop top, ASOS oversized sunglasses, New Look biker jacket and some old T-Bar heels from Next.
